We want to hear from you!

Thank you for your interest in submitting music to Summer Wind Radio. We really want to play your music and love to hear from musicians! We take pride in our unique brand of temporary insanity and hope you have the irresistible impulse to join in!

What do we play?

We play more than just straight Trop Rock. We play a real variety of music on Summer Wind Radio with a different focus on each show:

Blue Water Music: On our flagship show, Blue Water Music, we play Trop Rock, Hawaiian, Reggae, Surf and Island music in our own special blend.

The Olde Original Sea Shanty Show: It's all old-time sea shanties (or sea chanties) with or without musical accompaniment. We also include some Gaelic drinking songs for good measure.

Cap'n Tom's Famous Sunset Show: We get romantic for the Sunset Sails and the Wine & Cheese Sails and play lots of american songbook standards from Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, etc. We're always looking for new artists putting their own interpretations on these classic songs, as well as those writing new songs in the same genre. Swing, Jazz, anything with a romantic flavor. We try to stay away from Blues or New Age Jazz.

The Moonlight Hour: For this show we pull specific songs from the Blue Water Music show with any sort of night, moonlight, star theme for our late-night Moonlight Sail.

Stinky Pete's Dirty Pirates: Our newest show, Stinky Pete's Dirty Pirates, is for adults only. It includes all the x-rated Sea Shanties Pirate Songs, Drinking Songs and Comedy Songs we like but don't fit in the other shows. Vulgar and profane are OK at midnight. It all started when I got a copy of Salty Dick's Uncensored Sailor Songs. I loved the CD but couldn't play it on the morning show so I've collected some other songs to go with it for some late-night fun.

Here are the rules….

  1. The song is encoded in mp3 format at least 96 kbps and preferably no more than 192kps. (Our station streams at no more than 128kbps and do not require higher bitrates. Higher bitrates waste valuable disk space.)

  3. The song is a clean version (if possible). If the song contains vulgar language by FCC standards, then make sure to mark the song as “dirty” or “unedited.” Such songs may qualify for late-night programming.
  4. Fill out the ID3 tag on the mp3 (where you put the song name, artist name, album name, year, etc.). If you don’t know how to do this, please include the band name and album that the song is from within your e-mail.
  5. If you send your songs to us via e-mail, be sure to send us up to 3 songs as an attachment. If you have more then 3 songs to send to us, please send multiple e-mail messages.

Once you’ve taken care of this, you can send your songs to us either by e-mail or snail mail…
